EP 06: The Good Christian Olympics

Listen Later

Welcome to the invisible competition nobody asked to join.

In this episode of Saved & Slightly Unhinged, we talk about the pressure to perform as Christians. Looking put together. Saying the “right” things. Being the most disciplined, most spiritual, most serving, most healed version of ourselves… while secretly feeling exhausted trying to keep up.

Somewhere along the way, many of us turned our relationship with God into a scoreboard.
But Jesus never asked us to perform for Him.

He said: come as you are.

We reflect on:

  • The pressure to look like a “good Christian” to other people
  • How performance can quietly replace intimacy with God
  • Heart posture vs outward appearance
  • The uncomfortable realization that we may be idolizing ourselves, our image, or how we’re perceived spiritually

This episode is an honest conversation about taking off the costume, stepping off the stage, and realizing God was never asking for perfection in the first place.

Just presence.

Questions we reflect on during this episode:

“Maybe being a ‘good Christian’ isn’t about doing everything right… maybe it’s about actually knowing Him.”

“Do you feel like you’re in a relationship with God… or performing for Him?”
