On Navigating Challenges in Education in Kenya

Welcome to the IASFM20 podcast series.

In this episode, Aireen Andal talks to Abulogn Okello about the educational challenges refugees face in Kenya, focusing on the Accelerated Learning Programs (ALP) he initiated in Dadaab and Ruiru refugee camps. Aimed at empowering refugee women and girls, these programs combat illiteracy and educational gaps amidst obstacles like documentation, cultural traditions, and poverty. 

Okello also shared his experiences as a former refugee from Ethiopia and highlighted the ALP's success in fostering self-sufficiency and his vision for its future expansion and graduate leadership.
