Ep #064: Supplements That Are Actually Good For You

Hello ladies and welcome back to the Sexyfit Podcast!

Today we are talking about the supplements that are actually good for you on your Sexyfit journey.

Let me tell you that I am not a supplement junky and I do not promote weird supplements. It is the most unregulated industry that makes billions of dollars a year.

However, there are some supplements that make our life a whole lot easier. They speed up recovery, support our emotional and physical health and they make sure that we have the energy, as well as beautiful skin, hair and nails.

Another warning: I am not a naturopath and I have not looked at your micronutrient breakdown panel, which can show exactly which supplements you need to take. You can get this test by a doctor’s prescription or at https://www.anylabtestnow.com/.

But, from my experience of working with women, there are certain supplements that most of us need. Here is the shortlist.

1. VITAMIN D
It is essential for metabolism and it may actually be the number 1 reason why you are gaining weight. If you are living in a place where you are not seeing the sun for a long period of time, it’s likely that you are deficient in Vitamin D.

2. MAGNESIUM
It is essential for proper hormonal balance, and hormones are important for our metabolic capacity. A lot of women are struggling with adrenal fatigue or chronic stress, so magnesium may be the key. Also, if you have chocolate cravings, it is a standard symptom of you lacking magnesium.

3. VITAMIN B
If you are chronically stressed or have any kind of anxiety, it’s definitely worth checking out. The best way to do this is to take weekly Vitamin B shots for 6 weeks. You can do this in a medical spa or at your doctor’s office. This should be done by the prescription of your doctor for sure. Because if you are in the middle of anxiety or a panic attack, don’t take vitamin B as it can make you even more anxious.

4. MELATONIN AND MEDITATION
If you are dealing with the lack of sleep, melatonin and meditation are your best friends. Meditation helps your body shut down and it helps your brain really relax of daily tasks. Make sure you eliminate all kinds of screen time before bed (no more Instagram ladies!).

5. GLUTAMINE
If we are strictly talking about fitness related supplements, glutamine is essential for recovery if you find yourself really tired and sore. Some glutamine before bed may be of help in those situations.

6. PROTEIN
It’s a really easy way to supplement your food and help you hit your macros. Protein metabolizes a little bit faster. My favorite protein supplements are whey isolate or plant based protein.

7. FISH OIL AND GLUCOSAMINE
If you are battling with any kind of knee pain or joint pain, these two are your best friends. They are essential for any kind of knee discomfort or joint support, and they provide you with essential omegas.

This is the list of supplements that I recommend and that I see on clients’ results that most women are deficient in. Be sure to pick up some of them up in order to support your healthier, happier and sexier lifestyle. Grab a test if you need to, because what you can measure, you can improve.

I also want to say this: if you are considering any kind of fat burner or a metabolic booster THINK TWICE! The only thing it’s doing is putting your body at risk of even more anxiety and chronic stress.

In the long run, you can 100% naturally achieve results with proper macronutrient based approach nutrition, proper fitness 3x week with resistance training, and with some natural supplements in your body.
