In this episode, we talked with Dr. Jose Martinez, PT, DPT, CSCS about his multiple ventures, including his podcast "Leading PT" and his newly opened practice in Miami, Martinez Physical Therapy. We dove into his upbringing in sports and journey as a Pre-PT. He discussed his desire to built a community for other Pre-PT hopefuls with his Leading PT venture. From front office to admins to physical therapists, he has learned a great deal in starting his practice. We also discuss how important grades are compared to mentorship, developing people/communication skills, and networking. Jose also discusses the keys in hiring a new grad physical therapist, from interview skills and communication to being an open minded clinician. He also touches on the importance of marketing abilities.
