Hello and welcome back to the Sexyfit Podcast!
Today I want to talk about how to measure your progress to keep yourself accountable, motivated and inspired, and to see the exact changes that are happening in your physique.
I am a no scale gal. The number on the scale doesn’t represent an accurate way for you to track and measure your progress. I’ve seen women go through a whole fat loss journey from size 12 to 6 without ever losing a pound, as well as women losing only 5 pounds and looking amazing, or even gaining weight.
Your weight is only a number. Here are other good tools for measuring your fat loss progress and staying motivated.
Taking before pictures can be a terrifying experience. But hey, listen, you are starting a journey because you don’t want to be where you are today. And in order to be proud of yourself at the end, you need to see where you started from. Trust me, you will want to share your before pictures once you see the difference because you will be so proud of what you’ve achieved. Take your progress pictures on a monthly basis and take front, back and side photos. Use great lightening and the same spot for taking photos.
Measure specific parts of the body where you are going to see the progress. I recommend measuring your biceps, waist (one inch above belly button), hips and bust. And for Sexyfit sake, when you lose only half an inch, celebrate it and be proud! It’s a big battle and great success.
Check in with yourself every 2 weeks. Make sure you are using the scale just as a way to monitor your journey and just as one of the elements of measurement.
You can have goal pants and it will be such an amazing feeling once you fit into them.
These are the main measuring tools. Make sure you are using at least 2 of them. I use progress photos and jeans because that work best for me. Measuring your progress by combining these tools, instead of just looking at the scale is a sure way to keep yourself motivated on your fitness journey.
Have a great day ladies and talk soon!
With love,
Zlata
