Did you know Prince Charming was originally supposed to die in the pilot? According to an article from 2012, which you can read here the show runners, Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horrowitz, planned for Charming's battle to get Emma to the wardrobe would be his final moment. However the studio executives convinced them that it would make more sense to not end the true love couple at the center of the show in the first episode, and so they turned his death into a coma.
