Joining Sarah in this episode is life coach Karen Robinson. She is one of Sarah’s favorite people on the planet and her work provides so much inspiration. She travels all the time, specifically to Cambodia, and is also an American Ninja Warrior.
We begin by hearing about how Karen got started in leadership and life coaching. She says that her own journey motivated her greatly because it had so many ups and downs. Karen coaches in corporate settings and well as churches and tells us about the similarities between these two environments.
Karen provides advice for anyone dealing with abuse in their daily life or in their past. She shares a choice she had to make when faced with her own abuse which helped her rise above. This leads into the topic of creating new emotion, and Karen discusses an exercise that she does every morning to aid in this process. It’s never the event that’s holding you back, it’s the emotions you have attached to it.
God is helping Karen find success. Sarah asks how Karen’s mental fitness has changed since taking on the challenge of being an American Ninja Warrior.
Karen emphasizes the nine-month journey; every human being that exists was conceived, developed and delivered in nine months, and your dream can be realized in this time frame as well. Don’t make any excuses, just go make it happen.
