This is the episode where it all begins.
Before we get into diet culture, food freedom, or any of the bigger conversations this podcast is going to have, I want to tell you why Done With Mondays exists. Which means getting personal. Probably more personal than is sensible.
I grew up in a home where food was everything. Family meals every night, a dad who was a professional chef, cooking as the language our family spoke. And then life got complicated, diet culture got its hooks in, and somewhere along the way food stopped feeling joyful and became something to manage, control and feel guilty about.
That lasted the better part of twenty years.
This episode is about that journey; the feast and famine childhood that set the pattern, the decades of starting over every Monday, and the moment I started to realise that the problem was never the food. And it was never me either.
I'm not recording this from the other side. I haven't got this all figured out. But I think that's exactly why it's worth talking about.
If you've ever felt broken around food, like everyone else got the rulebook and you just kept failing, this one's for you.
Done With Mondays is part of Cook Myself Happy - a brand built around comfort food, real eating, and absolutely none of the guilt.
