What does it actually mean to be (soulfully) visible? What holds us back from allowing ourselves to be seen and contrastingly, who will benefit from us being seen? In this week’s episode, we delve into many of these challenging, albeit enlightening questions and reflections on the topic of soulful visibility.
Drawing on ayandastood’s Soulful Visibility ebook (see ‘References’ below), we looked towards the wisdom of other creators who are in the soulful reflection space to craft today’s episode. Our discussion opens with an honest reflection around fears and struggles we have regarding visibility: around never being perceived holistically, safety (or lack thereof) to be fully visible, and the challenge of accepting that visibility can also accompany scrutiny and criticism. ayandastood’s Soulful Visibility guide then gives us space to dream a little, to imagine, something we always welcome with especially open arms at Mixed Media Minds. Wondering about who would benefit from us being seen and who is dreaming through us allows us to wonder about our connection to our ancestors and community - and how full, courageous visibility might be exactly what binds us all in the end.
