Paul has long been accused of misogyny, homophobia, fostering blind allegiance to the State, and a theology that says we are worthless and doomed. The authors explore the social, rhetorical, and literary context of Paul's writing to open up a new understanding of the apocalyptic--and possibly universal--salvation that he was trying to describe to the church in Rome.
