Our last episode of Season One takes a look at the use of entertainment media to drum up support for the US armed forces, both through the more passive example of military cheerleading in Marvel movies, and the absolutely insane marriage of W's war in Iraq and the TV show 24. We'll be back soon to tackle current events in Season Two.
To our listeners of the No Fugazi Podcast,
Hey gang, it’s Nina here. This tenth episode of the No Fugazi Podcast was originally recorded in late April at a time when it was largely unclear how the ongoing pandemic/plague-watch was going to affect our lives long term. Unfortunately, almost immediately after we recorded the source material, my life imploded into a series of cascading problems, all complicated by COVID, that eventually touched on my extended family, my pets, my ongoing battle with depression and even my access to the software necessary to edit these episodes. It’s a very long story that I’m hoping to share in more detail with you on an upcoming episode of Nina Bloc, but in light of the fact that this delay between episodes nine and ten is in absolutely no way my co-host Nick Galea’s fault, it didn’t make much sense to include all that personal information in an episode of No Fugazi.
Please forgive me for this wholly unreasonable delay and with any luck, both Nick and I will be back with a new season of No Fugazi in the next week or two.
