This week I am joined by Dr. Nikki Coleman, a Licensed Psychologist in Houston, whose research involves sexual schemas in the Black community, how sexual relationships impact our mental health, and the implications of today's culture on Black female sexuality. We dive into the origins of sexual shame in the Black community and how a history of body politics has fostered an inability to acknowledge our sexuality as an inherent right not just a luxury. Sharing personal experiences, all while providing a psychological framework for our sexual behaviors give light into how important and satisfying this conversation is.
