Editor-in-Chief Dr Kirk Barber speaks with Dr Michele Ramien, a clinical associate professor of pediatric dermatology at University of Calgary and co-author of a study on the development of an eczema action plan (EAP) as an individualized tool to help caregivers and patients self-manage eczema. While novel illustrated EAPs have been developed and validated and this study supports those findings as it found caregivers and participants demonstrate the EAP is a useful and highly usable tool. Dr Barber and Dr Ramien also discuss how pharmacists may find the tool helpful for advising patients with eczema.
