Ian Burgess is the co-founder and President of Validere, a measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) platform for the energy industry.

Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, he attended the University of Waterloo where he pursued physics. He would later receive a Ph.D. in applied physics from Harvard. After completing his student, Ian worked at the Weiss Institute, developing adaptive optical materials for application in colorants, sensing and camouflage.
