Ep. 103: Affirm Me: Rosenda Strong and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

Listen Later

*Listener Discretion Advised: Themes of violence, racism, and sexual assault*

This week Shannon tells us about the tragic and still unsolved story of Rosenda Strong. Rosenda was a Native woman, but her story, and others like hers, was pushed aside and not given the attention it deserved. Underfunding, overworking, and a long history of racism may be the key factors in the lack of movement in Rosenda’s case, but overall her killer is still out there. Shout out to Mary Pavel, whose recent talk at a local library inspired this episode.
