Many of us remember the amazing story of Eli Crane and his company Bottle Breacher when they appeared on Shark Tank in 2014 but the story keeps getting even better. Eli is a former Navy Seal who started the company with his wife upon returning home from his third deployment. Prior to appearing on Shark Tank the company had done nearly $1 million in sales so things were going well but getting a deal from Mark and Kevin helped propel the company to new heights. In the week after the episode aired the company did $1 million and since then they've done more than $12 million in sales. Even better is that the company has grown to 35 employees and all their super cool products are still made in the USA.
Eli is a true hero and it was an honor to speak with him on the Startup Sense Podcast. There were so many things I wanted to ask Eli but I know his time is precious because it's the crazy holiday season for every e-commerce company but especially one growing as fast as his. Eli has been very gracious with his time giving multiple interviews to podcasters like me as well as numerous appearances on morning talk shows and news outlets.
In this interview I spoke to Eli about why he started Bottle Breacher, how the company acquired customers in the very beginning, what his Shark Tank appearance was like, how it is working with Mark Cuban and Kevin O'Leary, how the company the insane revenue growth over the past two years, how he's reinvesting in his company and developing new products, how his military career and Navy Seal training prepared him to be an entrepreneur and so much more. This interview was truly inspiring for me and I hope it will be for you too.
Thanks for listening.
