Ep 109: Interview with Chrissy Marriner, founder of Sweet Minerals

Listen Later

Being an entrepreneur is hard. It requires dedication and patience because things rarely go according to plan. Chrissy Marriner lived through that struggle but kept on fighting. Her first beauty company failed because it never gained any significant traction but after taking a short break she ended up partnering with two other women to relaunch her beauty company under a new name with a new focus. Fast forward a few years and these ladies have bootstrapped their company Sweet Minerals to $550,000 in revenue with plans to surpass $1 million in 2017.

In this interview I spoke with Chrissy, co-founder of Sweet Minerals about her journey as an entrepreneur, why her first beauty company failed, why she decided to try again, what their current business model looks like, how she formulated all of the products, what are the requirements for product testing, how they acquire customers, when and why they rolled out the direct sales strategy, what the margins are like in the makeup business, what have been the biggest challenges and much more.

Thanks for listening.
