Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, James has spent a majority of his 20-year career as an entrepreneur in the digital media and advertising technology industries, leading sales and business development teams for four different companies, including Market Hardware, HomeAdvisor and Q1Media. James most recently founded Inwood Road Films in 2016 with his brother, John, with whom he has invested in and/or produced six independent films, including PLUS ONE, the 2019 Audience Award Winner for Narrative Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival, THE DARK AND THE WICKED from director Bryan Bertino of THE STRANGERS fame, and the upcoming BRICK HOUSE, a documentary about a pro women’s football team in Houston in the 1970’s. When James is not trying to make a movie, he’s biking down the beach, reading a book, immersed in a podcast, movie or tv show or hanging out with friends and family (in a physically distant manner, of course).
