In 2011, Mark became the first person to run stand-up comedy shows in Mandarin. His group 笑道文化 (Xiaodao Wenhua, or Lauphilos) put the pieces in place for a scene which is growing rapidly in cities across China. Today, stand-up is on television, there was a big festival in Beijing, and as an art form at the moment it seems to have limitless opportunities.
