In this multi-part podcast we begin to explore the vast expanse of imagery, starting with the notion that we have a split brain and that we only use half of it, and that half not very well. We explore how consensual reality dismisses the other half and at the same time tries to control how we use the rational, logical half that we purportedly do use.
We'll talk about how we actually do use imagination all the time but not generally in the most conscious or positive sense. I'll present my idea of a little I imagination and a Big I Imagination, explore Jung's Four Cognitive Functions of Thinking, Feeling, Sensing and Intuition and contrast that with Stephen Eligio Gallegos' model which replaces Intuition with Imagery. I then present the idea that perhaps intuition is the introverted aspect of each of the 4 cognitive functions, as we can intuit in a variety of ways. Lastly, I'll explore Kabbalist author and Rabbi Dovber Pinson's idea of a Positive Imagination and Negative Imagination and some ideas for healing our Cognitive Ailments with imagery and imagination.
