One of the dangers of protestant Christianity, as opposed to Catholicism, is that we don't have a universal agreement on what words and doctrines mean. This lends itself to pastors and Bible teachers being the ultimate authority on what words, and therefore passages of the Bible, mean. In a culture of relativism this subjectivity may seem attractive but it can undermine evangelism and the preaching of Truth
