Dr. Kheriaty is the chair of his hospital's ethics committee and is presently working on a task force with the University of California Office of the President to prepare for the possibility that a surge in demand for intensive care due to the coronavirus pandemic will outstrip the supply of equipment and staff. He is the author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and in the lay press, many of which are focused on end-of-life issues.
