“Who the **** lives with a jar of gasoline in their ****ing place.” (John Morgan III)
Do you think any of your suffering “goes away” as you move closer to your goal?
~
In this week’s episode, Amer, Austin, and John discuss the impacts of going through hardships voluntarily and how it strengthens your abilities to manage hardships which are unavoidable.
It seems that building a tolerance to a suffering, is the key to lessening suffering. Not because tragedies are necessarily damped, but because you’ve developed tools to manage your actions and emotions over time.
It may not be true that financial independence lessens someone’s suffering, although it may be one critical factor that can reduce stress. However, when looking at probabilities of character/lifestyle, the person who becomes financially independent is most often someone who has taken on adversity and that journey of self development best prepares them for catastrophe.
