Ep. 12 - Is job jumping really better for your career and pay?
Welcome to another episode of "Your Everyday Rich" podcast.
Little did we know that the hit 1992 song Jump Around by House of Pain would come back and be a literal metaphor for todays chat. But does it actually benefit your career and do you end up getting paid more over the long run? We share our views on both sides of this, with Jenn being the long time veteran like Kobe at her company while Jason has the shorter multiple team contract signings experience. For the love of basketball, this was the best sports metaphor we could relate to.
In this episode, we ‘jump’ into:
Jenn celebrating 15 year work anniversary… at the same company!
Working a job versus building a career
Does job loyalty mean anything anymore?
Finding your vocational purpose by growing with a company
Advantages of Intreprenuership - going deep versus wide
Worker bee vs owner mentality
Pros and cons of jumping jobs or staying put
Working to your supermax contract abilities
