This episode marks the beginning of a special series dedicated to understanding the high sensitivity trait. I speak to the contrast in the world and the importance of tending to our own nervous systems, especially when we are exposed to news and topics designed to induce fear. I share my own journey from being an "overprotective mom" driven by fear to understanding that my high-strung nature was a result of ignoring my body's communication.
In this conversation, I talk about the power of nature as a healing environment, the critical importance of how you start your day, and why nasal breathing and slow exhalation are essential signals of safety for a sensitive nervous system. I also share my own story of school anxiety and gut issues, and how I wish I had known about the vagus nerve and the power of slowing down back then.
If you have ever felt that you were "too much" or "too sensitive," if you are struggling with chronic anxiety or gut issues, if you feel overwhelmed by the news or the world, if you are ready to start your day in a way that nurtures you instead of depletes you, this conversation is for you.

An Invitation to Carry With You
As you listen, or as you reflect on your morning routine, how are you starting your day? Are you choosing what to give your attention to, or are you letting yesterday's patterns glide back in? What would it feel like to step outside first thing in the morning to greet the sun, or to take a moment to breathe slowly and signal safety to your nervous system?
