Years ago on my old record label Female Fun, I dropped a mixtape from my friend Dooley O. It was called The Beat Segment. Now, the Beat Segment started as a cable access TV show or a VHS video magazine. Dooley has been involved in all things hip-hop from the jump - as a producer, rapper, DJ, graf artist and painter, videographer/director and more. He bleeds art. He has sick records and has been digging for years, way before it was ever even trendy. I asked him very nicely to produce an all new Beat Segment for the podcast and he obliged. I appreciate it and I think you're gonna like this. It's mad soulful, political, and just very timely. Listen to it when you bump it, some good records in there!
