This week we bring you the story of the incredible Barbara Barnes Sims, author of the book The Next Elvis: Searching for Stardom at Sun Records.

We're back to reading books and sharing with you people who we find inspiring. This week, Chanty presents an episode about Barbara Barnes Sims after reading her amazing book about her time working at Sun Records.

Barbara was am employee at Sun Records from 1957-1960, just after Elvis had left, and while Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison were getting their start. Barbara worked in sales, promotion and publicity. While there, she developed a close friendship with Sam Phillips and came to be a part of the Sun Records family.
