Episode 132: To-be Or Not To-be Directors Spotlight: Tobe Hooper
With a career spanning nearly five decades, Tobe Hooper definitely carved out a spot for himself in the annals of horror history. Whether he was introducing the world to a classic horror icon like Leatherface, propelling the careers of genre legends like Robert Englund, or working alongside industry giants like Steven Spielberg, Hooper has proven himself to be a Master of Horror. From cannibals and poltergeists, to crocodiles and genies, he has done it all, and if there is something you’re afraid of, it is likely that Tobe made a film that will pull you deeper into your nightmares.
So with that in mind, we decided to watch two of Hooper’s less talked about films that deal with our individual fears. Mike’s irrational fear of spontaneous human combustion, and James’ irrational fear of oiled up naked men, riding horseback through the desert sun.
