Burnout: Causes, Symptoms, & Treatment Episode 14 | How to Recover From Burnout Symptoms

In this episode I want to have an open dialogue about #burnout, what it looks like, and ways to address it. I also want to talk about how burnout is a mental health crisis and how simply recognizing that we need to take a step back is such a powerful act of #selfcare. It was an extremely powerful act of self-care when #SimoneBiles took a step back from competing in #gymnastics in the #Olympics to protect her #MentalHealth and #wellbeing so much so that it had a ripple effect world wide as so many have had an opinion on it positive and negative...  

Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and/or mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. Burnout can affect your physical and mental health.   

Some ways you can consider if you have burnout is by asking yourself the questions in this episode. 

So what do you do about burnout? It’s self-care.  

Self-care is actually setting boundaries, managing your time, and prioritizing! Literally addressing your basic needs like getting enough sleep, good nutrition, as well as  working on our mindset and mental health.   

Research shows that recovery can take anywhere from one year to 10 years for some people! Don’t wait to start taking care of yourself.
