There are many benefits of creating and operating non-profits as they provide access to resources in ways that local and regional government may not able to provide, as well as some of the more relatability to a cause which may provide assistance for marginalized populations.

Our guest, Leslie Davis, LCPC and Executive Director of Heart in Faith, joins the show to discuss her work in the community to assist single mothers and fathers by connecting them to resources, mentoring, development, and training. Ms. Davis discusses her counseling services and her work with the State of Illinois Better Help program which is a platform to connect mental health professionals to clients in need regardless of insurance.
