Everybody wants to focus on maximum speed and maximum output. How hard can I go today? How far can I push right now? That’s the question that traps us all.
Instead, however, what we need to focus on our average speed. Not how badly can I blast it now, but rather, how can I push my boundaries just a little bit to boost my overall, average output?
With both nutrition and training, maximum speed is sexy, but average speed is what is sustainable.
