Financial Independence is different for everyone but it is defined as when your passive income (from your own business or assets) exceeds your expenses allowing you to live the life of your dreams without having to be employed or dependent on others.

This does not happen overnight but you get to decide your own pace as you move through these stages based on your current situation.
