Today is a conversation with Cody Fry, who is a musician based in Nashville, TN who has toured as a "sideman" with artists like Ben Rector and Hunter Hayes - he is also an artist himself and one of my favorite song writers.

Cody and I talk about the difference between being a "hired musician" playing for an artist, and actually being the artist with your name on the marquee. He also shares a few stories about what he learned working with drummer Aaron Sterling. As well as gives practical advice on how to get hired by an artist if you are looking to be a "musician for hire".
