Bio:
So, ill start with where I’m from; I’m from south london, England, although I have a tiny bit of columbian in me and I I like to think thats where the bubbly, wild side of me comes from (not my eccentric father, aha).
I went to university of Leeds to study English and Philosophy. Primarily, because English literature was the only subject I paid much attention top in school and I had a teacher who definitely inspired my love of literature. Leeds also attracted me by its reputable name in the music world and DJ scene; music is such a big part of my life, some of my best friends from university are now successful musicians and DJs which is incredible. I kind of fell into modelling half way through university, but I won’t say I just sat around and let it all evolve. I’m a go getter, so once the opportunity presented itself to me I seized it. I was street casted by Adidas and my images were used in one of their global originals campaign. Then I signed to one of the most prestigious modelling agencies in london. Soon after that I was signed in America and working out there regularly which was pretty mind-blowing. Its been an amazing journey, I love to travel, see new places, meet new people. Its opened so many doors and I really value the working relationships I have made within it. I’ve never stopped writing either, I think with any freelance job you need side projects. I keep a diary when I can and I am also in the process of writing a novel. I also love sport and working out so I began a podcast interviewing women in all different industries who inspire me and what working out means to them. That was shortly after I ran my first half marathon, what a feeling that was! One side of my family is from Devon, and they are boaters, so sailing has always been a big part of my life, I also love to surf, so long story short I’m a massive water baby and would love to someday have my own place by the sea. For now, south London will have to do. It’s not all bad, I live with the most incredible woman and my best friend Daphne, who runs and co-owns brixtonsbaddest skate shop with her partner, Valentine. She’s from Greece, my favourite place in the world, the Greek islands are sacred to me.
I’ve always enjoyed the creative side of my jobs and I’ve found myself recently collaborating with other creatives and brands in new and exciting ways. I’ve just started a new video series called Unseen with Lily Jean … watch this space … aha. I’m grateful for everything that has come my way but none of it comes easily and I am always thinking of ways to evolve and push myself.
Also work hard, play harder obviously, thats probably the gemini in me, I cant tell you how many times I’ve had to cancel flights for a job but then ill spontaneously book a flight to say Tobago Caribbean and take a few days for myself out there in nature. Also, in the summer, you’ll most likely see me at a festival, Glastonbury 2020 anyone? ——————————————————————- Host: Jamie Neale @jamienealejn Discussing with Lily her rituals of reflection and understanding her own habitual patterns both in personal and work life.
