Ep. 156 - Tribute to Eddie Van Halen

Listen Later

Today we forgo our standard turntable round table format in favor of discussing the enormous impact of Eddie Van Halen.  Eddie was a true innovator, creating a style of guitar playing that influenced a multitude of artists for generations to come.  The news of his unfortunate passing created a shockwave around the world as everyone came to grips with losing a legend.  The outpouring of support and tributes on social media has been unlike anything we’ve seen in recent memory.  Just take a moment to read some of these tributes and you realize that Eddie was not only revered and respected as an artist, he was universally loved.  Is it possible that we’ve finally found a consensus?  It shouldn’t take tragedies like this to bring us together, yet here we are: united.  Rest in peace Eddie Van Halen. Your memory will live on in our hearts and your music leaves a permanent imprint on the world.
