EP 165: Cher

Listen Later

This week we talk about CHER!

Chanty tells Lynx about the incredible period in 1975 when Cher had her own variety show on CBS called "Cher". In this episode, you'll hear about Cher's childhood, and how her teens on the Sunset Strip led her to being a backup singer, then partner to Sonny and eventually to her solo variety show which we will discuss in detail.

Cher's variety show was a 60 minute program which included, comedy sketches, musical performances, duets and incredible costumes and wigs. Learn about the backstage movers and shakers who made it all possible, and how it was ahead of its time and a work of brilliance.

Resources used for this episode were Josiah Howard's book: Strong Enough and the documentary Cher: Life in the Spotlight.
