Let’s put this into a better translation: To make it seem that a funeral is about the person who has passed on when you are actually experiencing sadness over your own loss in loving this person, would be selfish.

Now, we could also argue that John is being a little selfish for not letting his loved ones go through whatever process they need to say goodbye and move on from their relationship 😂
