Ep. #168 - Regressions Are Normal For Babies And Your Faith Life

Listen Later

You’re praying, showing up to Mass, trying to grow in virtue—doing the right things.
But then out of nowhere… it feels like you’ve slipped backwards.
The old sins resurface. The old doubts come back. And you’re left wondering, “Am I failing God?”

But what if regression isn’t failure? What if it’s actually part of growth?

In this episode, we unpack what my 3-year-old’s sleep regression at 2 a.m. taught me about the spiritual life. Just like kids sometimes go backwards before they leap forward, our faith can feel messy, restless, and exhausting—but God is patient in the process. Through Scripture and parenting parallels, we’ll see that God never abandons us in setbacks. Instead, He uses them to deepen our trust and prepare us for real growth.

This episode is your reminder that regression isn’t the end of your story—it’s part of the way God raises you into maturity.
