Addressing mental health in the African American community is critical in improving opportunities to acquire generational wealth by focusing on the tools to build stronger families and communities. Dr. Terrence Duncan and Carmel Brown welcomes four accomplished mental health therapists: Rachel Jackson, Tessie Amos III, and Cecilia Carter to discuss therapy during the pandemic, cultural competency in therapy, advantages/disadvantages of virtual therapy, building and modeling resilience, and self-care strategies for parents and caregivers. We conclude the show by discussing the increase of domestic violence-related deaths receiving national attention with a powerful and emotional call for Black male intervention by Mr. Amos, III.
