Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Ruffin (Joseph Ruffin) had always been deeply drawn to creative expression and almost entirely self-taught. At a very young age, Ruffin had explored artistry in the sketchbook as well as the family computer, where he got to work experimenting with music production. As a teen, he attended the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts. This environment encouraged and nurtured the creative process.

Ruffin’s latest album, “Paprika” is a tonal and harmonic continuation of Ruffin’s prior album “Prisma”. It is recognizably Pop/R&B and unmistakably unique with its blend of jazzy vibes, funk elements, and an underlying City Pop tone. You can expect to hear keys and guitar solos, as well gentle vocals that will send chills down your spine.
