What drives you? This week I’m unpacking this question on a deep level. Having worked with other busy, high-achieving women for a few years now, I’ve come to the conclusion that our own addictive tendencies are often rooted in being addicted to stress and being driven to success to avoid dealing with the parts of our lives that are painful and feels unsafe.
We use our drive and our successes as a way to hide from our trauma, pain, or our own sense of lack of worth and keep ourselves safe by pushing to new heights, all while not wholly being engaged in our own lives.
