Heather has over 15 years of experience in publishing and another 10 in the restaurant industry, is an award-winning writer, editor and photographer, and is a classically trained chef. Heather openly discusses her heartbreaking story of how, in 2019, she lost her husband to suicide and now advocates with others on how to deal with unexpected loss, hoping that her experience and words can inspire those faced with the unthinkable to persevere.

Heather Lee is a thrill seeker, dream chaser, and unabashed advocate for bravery in the face of adversity. Never one to be defined by a single calling, Heather’s the ultimate content specialist, weaving her vast experiences into scroll-stopping content for businesses and brands. With 15 years of experience in publishing and another 10 in the restaurant industry, she’s cultivated an award-winning career as a writer, editor, photographer, and classically trained chef. 

A UCF graduate (Go Knights!), Heather currently leads the editorial team at The Local Winter Garden and is the content director for Em Agency.

In her free time, she photographs and designs cookbooks (An Appealing Plan, Raw Food Art), is a menu design consultant for restaurants, and freelances for businesses and publications looking to engage consumers with dynamic stories.

In 2019, she lost her husband to suicide. Rather than hide in sorrow and shame, Heather shares her story openly, hoping that her experience and words can inspire those faced with the unthinkable to persevere.
