We watched a 2001 anime from the Fox Kids block, the pun-heavy Fighting Foodons. Long ago, a king asked which of his dinner options was the "strongest" and his chefs developed magic meal tickets to stick on their dishes to bring them to life FOR COMBAT. Now, the land is embroiled in a rebellion with food as their weapon, and a young boy named Chase hopes to become a great foodon chef like his dad.
We try to make sense of a foodon as a sentient living creature and how long it can possibly live, which takes us to the life spans of Pokemon and dinosaurs. We also discuss levers that drop you down into a pit, hot hats, and the last time we can remember eating a fish stick.
