In this film block, Jeremy and Brian are joined by Michael Floyd to plunge into Jaws mockbusters. Since Jaws was the first blockbuster, these films made for a good starting point in exploring the phenomenon of mockbusters, which are often times lower budget movies with similar elements and themes that try to lure an audience by promising them—through posters and other marketing materials—a similar experience. The experience is seldom ever that, but, in this case, the results are are actually pretty great.
