Welcome back to Some (More) Good News, today with the delightful Laura Michel Cooper. Laura is a pediatric speech-language pathologist at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Working with children with various speech and language needs, she talks to me about giving each and every child a voice, and the detail with which she cares about all her patients is so apparent. Hear how she felt the pull to lead a life helping others, how her path following her passions led her on the medical track, but then veered just enough to discover communication disorders, her constant love for helping the children she works with, and how the pandemic has helped her connect with families in a new way. In addition to her current work, Laura is working on a speciality in working with autistic children, she is involved in her community, and on weekends, she and her husband Nathan can usually be found hiking throughout stunning Colorado.
