The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church defines grace as "the undeserved, unmerited, and loving action of God in human existence through the ever-present Holy Spirit." Grace is present in all of our lives, whether we realize it or not. It cannot be earned, but it is given to us through God’s presence as God creates, forgives, heals, transforms, and works in our lives. Grace is at the center of what it means to be made in the image of God.
