A 20-year old Dalit woman was gang-raped by four upper caste men in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. So heinous was the crime that the victim's legs and arms were paralysed, her tongue cut and she was nearly strangulated. Two weeks after the brutality she died in a Delhi hospital.
