This episode looks at the life and journey of Amil Shivji, a filmmaker born and raised in Tanzanian whose story feels like that of the prodigal son but in this version, he returns home from a film scholarship in Canada fused with an incisive desire to tell the stories of his people and his culture in a way that no one had ever done before... and spoiler alert he does with awards to show for it.
