When does a plant bloom? And what does it mean to “bloom?” Do we bloom, like a plant out in nature? A plant blooms when it receives all the necessary nutrients, and when it is in the right, or good enough, environment. So of course, like plants, we also bloom… that’s our nature. But not all conditions produce the same quality of flowers. The same is true for humans. We are a lot like plants… the quality of our environment can have a huge effect on what we produce, and the condition of our body and mind. One big difference between a plant and us, is that plants don’t have thoughts… negative thoughts about themselves, and we do! Too often it’s not our external conditions that keep us from blooming big… it’s our internal conditioning, our thinking… I know this first hand! So, is there anything we can do… externally or internally to improve our chances of producing BIG, beautiful, healthy blooms for as longs as possible? What in our immediate surroundings can we change or improve on, that would have an effect on our state of being? Sometimes when I feel stagnant, it helps to start by making small tweaks around me… like changing my home décor, new bedding, new accent pillows, a new lipstick color. Reorganizing/decluttering areas of my home to make them look prettier. Anything that’s taking up (or producing negative) mental energy, like closets, pantry, laundry room, kitchen and bathroom counters, or paperwork (big one for me). Even something as small as making your nightstand look really pretty… it’s the last thing you look at night and the first thing you see in the morning. Last weekend I refreshed the flowers on our window boxes! I kept looking at the old ones and thinking “those look so sad”. Not good energy! Other times it’s bigger things, like looking to improve my thinking by reading books about what I’m feeling doubt about, or some other thing that doesn’t feel quite right. Change can have a big impact. Change… when you shop, buy something you would not normally wear, like a hat, or try a new color dress, a long dress, a short dress, just something new for you. Anything that breaks up the monotony, sameness, rinse & repeat cycles/routines of something that’s keeping you from feeling that you’re blossoming! If you try any of these things and you get results I would love to hear about it! Lastly, if you are looking to work with a life coach, don't forget to take advantage of my free 30 min coaching call.
