Cleo Lockhart is a Denver-raised poet and novelist currently attending school in Portland, Oregon. An alum of Denver School of the Arts, they discovered and cultivated their passion for writing in the school's seven-year Creative Writing program, and are now studying the history and literature of Theatre at Lewis & Clark College. They have published works in collections including Rare Byrd Review, High Shelf Review and And We Created Worlds, and they published their first novel, The Well Where the World Ends, in July of 2022. Their poetry often settles into genres of the surreal, dreamlike, and magical realist, and topics such as queerness, belonging, and storytelling.
